Shelby Sargent was born and raised in Weatherford, Texas. With her mother being the former Drill Team Director and creator of the Weatherford Blue Belles, Coach Sargent lived and breathed dance/high school drill team her entire life and continues to do so!
Coach Sargent began dancing at Bruce Lea Dance Factory and On Stage Dance and Performing Arts at the age of three years old through high school. Throughout her schooling in Weatherford, Coach Sargent was a member of the Hall Middle School Highsteppers and served as Captain her 8th grade year. She then transitioned to Weatherford High School, where she was a Weatherford Blue Belle for all four years of High School. On Blue Belles, Coach Sargent served as a Sophomore Social Officer, Junior Lieutenant, and Senior Captain.
After high school, Coach Sargent attended Tyler Junior College where she was an Apache Belle on the 65th Line and served as Dance Captain her Sophomore year. From Tyler Junior College, Coach Sargent became a member of the Southern Methodist University Pom Squad before transferring to the University of Texas at Arlington where she earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Kinesiology, EC-12 and obtained a teaching certificate in Dance Education. During college, Coach Sargent worked for Extreme Dance Camps, Just For Kix, Showtime International, and was a private choreographer for middle and high schools throughout North Texas. In addition to her Bachelor's degree, Coach Sargent earned her Master's of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with her Principal certification from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2019.
From 2016-2018, Coach Sargent worked at Legacy High School in Mansfield, Texas, where she was the Junior Varsity Silver Spurs Director and the Assistant to the Varsity Silver Spurs. She also taught Dance 1-4 and physical education. In January 2019, Coach Sargent began her journey with Granbury Independent School District as the Stowaways Drill Team Director and Pirate Dance Educator. The Stowaways and her have earned numerous awards throughout the years including Grand National Champions in 2022-2023 from MA Dance and 4th Runner Up Grand National Champions in 2023-2024 form ADTS Dance. Coach Sargent has enjoyed her time leading the Stowaways Drill Team and Pirate Dance over the past 7 years.

Emily Beane was born in Waco, Texas and raised in Burleson, Texas. Her passion for dance began at the young age of three at Bruce Lea Dance Factory, where she trained for 15 years. At 14, she began assisting dance classes at Bruce Lea Dance Factory, and by 17, she was leading two classes of her own—marking the early start of her journey as a dance educator.
Following high school, Coach Beane attended Stephen F. Austin State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Dance with a concentration in Secondary Education. While at SFA, she was an active member of Dancers Against Cancer for three years, serving as Advertising Coordinator in her final year. Additionally, she performed with both the Dimensions Contemporary Ballet Company and the SFA Repertory Dance Company. During her time in college, she continued to refine her teaching skills by instructing at Venetia’s Studio, a local dance school. Emily concluded her degree with a student teaching placement at Mansfield Legacy High School.
In 2022, Coach Beane began her professional teaching career with Granbury Independent School District, where she currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Stowaways Drill Team and as the middle school dance teacher for both Acton Middle School and Granbury Middle School. She currently teaches two Dance 1 and two Dance 2 classes, inspiring and guiding young dancers in both foundational technique and performance.
