1987-1989

Stowaways Dance Team formed and directed by Lineal Tankersly. Twenty one girls were selected for the first Stowaways Dance Team.

 

1989-1993

Stowaways directed by Jana Reid who began Stowaways of the Week, as well as, the awards banquet. The Stowaways competed for the first time in 1991. The Stowaways class was one semester and the team continued to practice after school for the remainder of the year.

 

1994-1996

Stowaways directed by Marci Hargrove.

 

1997-1998

Stowaways directed by Angie Craig.

 

1998-2001

Stowaways directed by Heather Blauvelt-Rodgers. Mrs. Rodgers took the Stowaways to officer camp, line camp, and regional competitions.

 

2003-2004

Stowaways directed by Kristi Millican.

 

2004-2007

Stowaways directed by Ashley Baker-Gaither who started the JV team in her second year as a director. The JV team consisted of 8th and 9th graders. The JV team later evolved into the Gems 8th grade Dance Team and the Jewels 9th-10th grade Dance Team. The Varsity Stowaways consisted of grades 10th-12th.

 

2007-2009

Stowaways directed by Susan Pearson who directed all three teams. In 2009, Mrs. Pearson combined the JV and Varsity teams into one Stowaways dance team of girls in grades 9th-12th. The Stowaways began before school practice and first period class. The officers attended camps in early summer and the team attended camp in late July. The team performed at football games, basketball games, parades, pep rallies, elementary schools, middle schools, and community performances! The team attended trips every other year including Disney World, New York, and Los Angeles, as well as, competed each year.

 

2009-2012

Stowaways directed by Brittany Freeman. She introduced clogging to Granbury and took the Stowaways to New York for a team trip. The team performed halftime to recorded music. The Stowaways attended officer camp, home team camp, and competed at regional competitions. The team was moved to the Crossland NGC to be housed.

 

2012-2018

Stowaways directed by Diane Craig. She brought back the practice of performing to the GHS Pirate Band for halftime. The Stowaways were ranked top10 in 2013 and 2014 for the DFW Regionals competition for American Dance/Drill Team (ADTS). The Stowaways were invited to and performed in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor Spring Break 2016 and 2018. The Stowaways also competed and won ADTS Nationals in 2018 while in Hawaii! The dance gym/locker room/Director Office were constructed for the Stowaways on the GHS campus in 2015-2016. The Stowaways began before school practice and first period class. The officers attended camps in early summer and the team attended camp in late July. The team performed at football games, basketball games, parades, elementary schools, middle schools, and community performances.

 

2018

Stowaways directed by Keri Fleming. The Stowaways continued to perform to the GHS Pirate Band for halftime. She also took the Stowaways to perform at the TCU Halftime Extravaganza as a performance group.

 

2019-Present

Stowaways directed by Shelby Carter. The Stowaways competed at an ADTS Regional Competition in February and Showtime International Regional Competition in March 2019.
