Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath Visits Granbury High School

Granbury ISD was honored to welcome Texas Education Agency Commissioner Mike Morath to Granbury High School today during his visit to Education Service Center Region 11.

Commissioner Morath, his team, and representatives from ESC Region 11 spent the morning visiting classrooms, engaging with district leaders on strategic systems, and seeing firsthand the work taking place each day at Granbury High School.

“We see the great things happening across Granbury ISD every single day, and today we were excited to showcase our district and Granbury High School at the state level,” said Courtney Morawski. “Our students, teachers, and staff represent Granbury ISD incredibly well, and we are proud of the work taking place across all of our schools.”

During the visit, the group observed Algebra I classrooms utilizing Bluebonnet instructional materials, watched teachers deliver high-quality instruction while actively engaging students, and visited the Auto Tech CTE program to see career and technical education in action.

“Days like this reinforce the importance of partnership,” said Dr. Brad Schnautz, Executive Director of ESC Region 11. “When we bring together state leadership, district teams, and Region 11 staff, we gain a clearer understanding of what’s working, where we can grow, and how we can better support our schools moving forward.”

Granbury ISD extends a special thank you to Dr. Schnautz and the ESC Region 11 team for joining the visit and for the continued partnership and support they provide to the district. We are grateful for their leadership and commitment to supporting schools and students across the region.
