Granbury High School senior Hannah Dafoe was recently recognized as the WFAA Scholar-Athlete of the Week by Dallas sportscaster Joe Trahan. The feature aired last night on WFAA Channel 8 during “Sports Special with Joe Trahan.”
Dafoe ranks in the top three percent of her class and is a standout two-sport athlete for the Lady Pirates, competing in both basketball and softball. She has earned academic awards in both sports and was named 2025 Team MVP and District 5-5A first team all-district in softball.
A well-rounded student leader, Dafoe is involved in the Junior Optimist Club, Superintendent’s Leadership Council, and National Honor Society. She also scored a perfect 36 on the reading portion of the ACT and volunteers through her church youth group and Mission Granbury.
While she is still exploring college options, Dafoe plans to pursue a degree in aerospace engineering, with intended minors in civil and mechanical engineering.
The WFAA Scholar-Athlete of the Week program, sponsored by Buick/GMC, honors North Texas seniors who excel in athletics, academics, and community service. Nominees must be in the top 15 percent of their class and demonstrate meaningful contributions to their school and community.
Granbury ISD is proud to celebrate Hannah’s outstanding achievements and the positive example she sets for her peers, both in the classroom and on the field.
