Granbury High School’s Marine Corps JROTC program has been awarded the prestigious Marine Corps Reserve Association (MCRA) Outstanding Unit Award for the fifth consecutive year — ranking as the #1 MCJROTC unit in the nation in the Large School category. This is the highest recognition a Marine Corps JROTC unit can receive and is awarded to only a select few units worldwide each year.
Adding to this historic achievement, GHS MCJROTC has also been named a Naval Honor School for the 12th consecutive year by the Commanding General of Marine Corps Training and Education Command — placing the program in the top 10 percent of MCJROTC units nationwide.
The criteria for these awards include cadets’ outstanding community service, leadership in school and civic organizations, academic performance, public affairs involvement, and success in competitive events at the state, national, and international levels.
