MCJROTC PT Team has good showing at McKinney Lions Challenge

On Saturday April 12th, the Granbury High School MCJROTC Physical Training Team competed at the McKinney MCJROTC Lions Challenge. Fifteen JROTC programs from all branches of service in the DFW area also participated. The Lion’s Challenge was held in the spirit of competition and sportsmanship to build unit cohesion and teamwork.

Events included a 1600m run in which the four person team had to carry various equipment each lap, a circuit course which involved a sled push, deadlift with farmers walk, and an incince run, pullups, pushups, female/male tire flip, and flyweight/female/male tug of war.

The Pirates placed in the following events: 1st place male tire flip, 1st place male tug-of war, 2nd place pullups, 3rd place female tire flip, and 3rd place circuit course. The team’s hard work resulted in a finish of 3rd place overall. 

Members of the team were Baker Mercado, Drew Atkins, Eli Hull, Michael McCullum, Daniel Atkins, Connor Gardner, Andrew Bowen, Fatima Jimenez-Anderson, Peyton Hawkins, Fiona Doss, Wyatt Seitz, Makinsey Scott, Jasper Murphy, Jocelyn Merendon, Marcus Hadaway, Gabriella Flores, Jina Kim, Sean Kim, Jmaes Barber, Brantley Thrasher, Brady Furr, and Viola Allen.
