Harbor Lakes Ladies Golf Association awarded three $1,000 scholarships to Granbury High School senior Lady Pirate golf members at its recent membership meeting. Akyah Ditto, Emily McGuire and Reagan Neal are the recipients of the scholarships as they are outstanding examples of future leaders. Each have an exemplary academic record and have volunteered their time to numerous civic organizations and community groups.
Akyah Ditto has been a golfer since the age of 3 and has played for GHS for all four years. She plans on majoring in Social Work as she found such joy in working with Hood County Children’s’ Charity and Christmas for Children. She will attend OSU and plans to play golf in college.
Emily McGuire is a child of military parents and has moved a lot, therefore she envisions a career as a travel nurse. She has played golf all four years in high school and cherishes the time she has had with the team. Her community service with Toys for Tots has made her realize how blessed she is.
Reagan Neal also has been on the GHS golf team for 4 years. After graduation, she will attend TCU, majoring in Biology where she will work at the forefront of cutting-edge research, helping unravel the mysteries of disease. Her hope is to make a tangible difference in the lives of others by expanding the horizons of healthcare. Working with Rancho Brazos and volunteering at her church has helped her to connect with others and make a positive impact on their lives.
The Harbor Lakes Ladies Golf Association has been in existence since 2020 and has awarded scholarships to Lady Pirate Golf Seniors since its inception. Funds for scholarships are raised through various golf events and tournaments.
